Spokane Fire Department continues to support the efforts of Our Kids: Our Business partners throughout the community who work to increase the number of resilient children and families and to reduce the number of children who are affected by abused or neglect.

Throughout the past year, Spokane Fire Department personnel taught age-appropriate classes to over 5,550 children between the ages of 3 and 12 with their regular program that includes the Children’s Fire Safety House, the Hazard House, classroom presentations and preschool lessons on “Our Friend the Firefighter”.  In addition, over 600 smoke detectors were installed in Spokane homes to help keep children, parents and grandparents safe.
